Our Story & Mission

A cancer diagnosis is deeply personal, and so is the fight against it.

Dr. Isabel Aronson English’s journey in cancer biology began nearly two decades ago and lead to a series of competitive internships and research assistantships at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. She earned her B.A. in Human Biology with honors from Scripps College, followed by an M.Sc. in Cellular Biology from Sorbonne Université in Paris. Dr. English ultimately completed her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology at OHSU, where her doctoral dissertation focused on bridging the gap between pre-clinical cancer models and clinical trials.

Dr. English’s extensive background in cutting-edge laboratory research is the powerful foundation of her advocacy work. This elite scientific training allows her to navigate complex oncology literature, genomic panels, and clinical trial structures with a level of precision and depth that few care advocates can match.

Her passion for patient advocacy is also deeply personal. When her great-aunt was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. English stepped in to help her and their family decode the disease, understand what to expect, and form the right questions for her medical team. She realized then how critical it is to have a compassionate, highly skilled translator to guide families through their care. Dr. English founded Aronson Cancer Consulting to ensure that families have access to the highest tier of scientific clarity and personalized support.
